Unless you´re running a Mom and Pop store, I think nowadays outsourcing is almost mandatory. If you´re running your business from home, it might also be a question of sheer workspace and it would probably be cheaper than hiring people to take care of stuff or it would help you retain your mental health should you decide to do everything on your own.

I worked a few call center jobs and I must say that most of them were horrible, although it is true that it´s evolving now and that many more people are in it to stay and make a career. The conditions and the technology (just think of cloud-based systems) have improved greatly from, say, 10 years ago. I still think the picture you presented is still a little too optimistic. But the landscape is definitely changing.

Just be careful not getting distracted. You can´t get out of the internet, but at least try to work in a separate space (i.e. not in your living room) from where you live normally. I tried working a few months from my bedroom because I literally had no other space available and I can´t tell you the sheer amount of distraction it provided me. You should be able to get the feeling you walk into a room TO WORK, kind of like when you go to the office.
And keep the fridge far away too!

Good suggestions, excellent article. May I add try to consume a little bit less or at least in relation to your cash availability? I know that online-buying is an ever looming temptation but you really should go check out your bank account every time you´re about to buy something and then take 5 to think about it. You´ll see that 9 out of 10 times you´ll back out of an impulsive purchase and after a couple of months your finances will thank you for that.
